It soon spread to France and enjoyed great popularity in northern Europe in the 14th and 15th centuries. This sculpture of Florentine Pieta / Deposition (1547-55) by Michelangelo and Tiberio Calcagni can be found in the Florence Cathedral. Made from bonded white marble, black marble base, imported from Italy, 11.5"H x 5.25"W x 4.5"D.
